WHY ARE YOUR MATERIALS ECO-FRIENDLY?Updated a year ago
At Nénés we have chosen to use only recycled, upcycled, organic or natural fibres. Here is a list of the main materials we use for our designs:
- Linen is a natural, plant-based material. We use it a lot for our beachwear collections. It's extremely hard-wearing, thermo-regulating, local, recyclable and requires very little water! What's more, it's grown without the use of pesticides, using only rainwater. What's more, flax absorbs almost 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ every year in France, the world's leading flax-producing country!
- Organic cotton is a natural plant-based material. Organic cotton is grown without pesticides, GMOs or other abrasive chemical insecticides. What's more, this method of farming saves water compared with conventional methods!
- The bamboo we use at Nénés comes from eco-managed forests! What's more, bamboo is a very fast-growing plant that doesn't need much water or fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides. As well as being supple and light but very strong, bamboo textile fibres are extremely soft to the touch and have the added advantage of being naturally anti-bacterial!
- Most of our lingerie and swimwear collections are made from recycled fibres! This is the most responsible method of production and consumption to date! By reusing existing materials, we can reduce waste, conserve precious resources such as water and electricity, and limit our overall environmental impact.
